holi: the hindu celebration of colors

Hello there! I hope you are enjoying a nice weekend. I was just reading about this week's Holi celebrations in India and had to share. I absolutely love this gorgeous celebration! Holi is the Hindu Celebration of Colors & Togetherness. It commemorates the victory of good over evil and ushers in Spring, the season of love and also honors the Hindu God, Krishna (Vishnu).

During this festival, people throw powdered paint (gulal) at each other filling the air with bright clouds of vibrant color. Colored water and flower petals are also thrown. This is an exuberant celebration with lots of dancing and singing in the streets and bonfires being lit during the evenings.
